NYC Omakase List 2026

Welcome to the 2026 NYC Omakase List

Editor’s Note: This blog is part of the “2026 New York City Sushi Guide” presented by Ledge Headwear. The digital guide features a number of articles, collections, “best ofs” and “What to dos” for the Big Apple, and can accessed directly at NYCSushiGuide.com. As always, we appreciate your support of the blog and Ledge Headwear, the designer cap brand I founded (with some Canada Goose alums) designed in New York and handmade in the hills of Piemonte at a generational family factory.

Jesus Christ, there are a lot of sushiya in New York City that focus on an Omakase. To make things easier for you legends, I’ve prepped this list and am giving it away for free.

I just ask for one thing in return: If you catch mistakes, let me know. It’s not intentional, and nothing makes me angrier than people (a) not putting the supplemental weights back at the gym and (b) not understanding Hanlon’s Razor.

For example, a few years ago, one of the sushiya on this list accused me of leaving them off – and hiding an Instagram comment from a supporter, as if I give a shit or know how to do that. I could have been playing Dominion or watching Industry; instead, I was dealing with an angry restaurant about a free list.

So they got a yellow card and one year ban. They’re back this year, because I’m a fair and benevolent blogger.

But info@thesushilegend.com if you have any edits. Thanks.

Some guidelines: the courses are approximate and can change (and probably should) nightly based on a host of factors. And to qualify, a restaurant has to offer an Omakase AND it must have some nigiri. Now, “Omakase” translates loosely as “leave it to you”, so some people will try and tell you sushi doesn’t have to be included. My response to that is: my list, my rules.

Cheers as always.
