New York City Sushi Guide 2026

Welcome to the 2026 New York City Sushi Guide Presented by Ledge Headwear

This landing site is the central hub for all my New York City sushi content, rankings, lists, and general nonsense. Last year – 2025, if you’re keeping score at home – almost 1 million of you legends visited  the Sushi Guide. That’s bonkers to me, considering how often I update it (rarely) and how much I spend on marketing ($0). So rather than charge some wild price, I decided to slap what I do in the real world – the designer cap brand I own in NYC/Italy called Ledge – as this year’s sponsor.

The vision is pretty simple: Ledge is a designer brand that only focuses on baseball caps. Didn’t really exist, and I’d know – loved caps in high-fashion my whole life. Check it out here.

Fellow legends,

It is time we recognize an uncomfortable – nay, an inconvenient – truth. The New York City sushi scene is a mile wide and an inch deep.

What does that mean? I’m a moron, so let me explain it using a clear analogy: a picture from a recent puff piece in the Sports Business Journal. The parallels are obvious.

This picture had two executives from a company called Relevent Sports. No, that’s not a typo. The former CEO – let’s call him “Donny” – and the new CEO – let’s call him “not Donny” –  are explaining how everyone gets along, but also we’re changing the CEO three years in. Things are different but still okay, we promise. You know. Corporate shit.

But that’s not what caught my attention. They’re both dressed in suits with sneakers, because they’re cool executives. But funny thing about those sneakers – they were exactly the same Loro Piana shoes. Same colour and everything (at least according to my eyes, which I have to add to avoid a lawyer letter). You know the shoes. If you follow anyone on Instagram that’s ever filmed themselves on a boat, you’ve seen these things.

Different name, same style. Worse, it’s not even their style. And worst of all, they’re a year late to the party for that style.

Sound familiar?

We call that a ‘microcosm’, kiddos.
